Car Photographer Dot Net – The Update

by Neill on July 13, 2010

Ok, so here it is at last. I’ve been promising for more than 12 months now to launch a definitive website dedicated to both the art and the industry of car photography, so here goes.

The previous domain name of Driving Images is now firing a good old 301 re-direct over this way, so if you came via that, welcome! When a domain name this good comes along, you don’t think twice… So what are we all about?

Car Photography – The Art

Great car photographers create great art. We aim to showcase and interview automotive photographers worldwide and get their thoughts on their work, what they like, what makes them tick. We’ve already started with my friends Tim Andrew in the UK and Mark Scheuern in North America, but we’ll be adding video interviews soon too.

Car Photography – The Industry

We want to talk to the other people involved in automotive photography. Everyone from the grips and assistants to the gear manufacturers, the rig guys and the people who commission and use car photography – the magazine editors, retouching and CGI houses, car manufacturers and PR people. We want to hear your thoughts and viewpoints.

Car Photography – The Gear

We know you love it and we couldn’t do our jobs without it. Gear and gadgets and how they’re used in car photography. We’ll be reviewing the gear we use and reporting on everything from a roll of gaffer tape all the way to the latest Canon hybrid HD-SDLR’s and a Porsche Cayenne Turbo with a Russian Arm. We know you’ll want to see it.

Car Photography – The Techniques

If you’re a fan of car photography, our Car Photography 101 series will help you improve your car photography, get the best from your existing gear and help you work out what to spend your cash on and when.

Car Photography – The Forum

Forgive me if there isn’t one yet, I think you’ll agree the list I’ve made above will be a lot to dig through, but we’ll be adding a forum soon.

So there we are, finally got it nailed. If you want to hear more, you can may yourself a fan on our Facebook page, follow our every move on Twitter or get our RSS feed. Got an opinion? Use the contact form to get in touch, we want to hear it. Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy the drive…
