Anyone with any misgivings whatsoever about the quality of motion footage delivered by the Canon 5D Mk2 needs to watch and listen to this Behind The Scenes of the shooting of the hit TV series 24. All of the background plates for driving sequences were shot using this killer car rig on a whole brace of Canon 5D Mk2′s.
Rodney Charters, DOP comments in the movie, “These cameras will be big players in all production in the future.” All the ‘plates’ for the latest season of 24 were shot on 5d’s and the newer 1D Mk4′s and now they’re moving into using them on principal photography.
If you’re still thinking that these cameras are stills cameras ‘That Happen To Shoot A Bit Of Video” then wake up and smell the coffee.
As for the car rig…. As Will Smith said, “I gotta get me one of those”
